Baby cots donation

The concert was really a fantastic event. Four rock bands played their best pieces, and they did even not get a pound for it. All money that people had paid for the tickets was donated to poor families from our area, particularly those who had just had children and needed some financial support as well as in-kind donations. The non-governmental organisation that collected the money made a list of most necessary things such as: baby cots, clothes, baby bedding sets, blankets, changing mats, baths, cosmetics and other accessories. The donations were given to single parents or families who cared for several children in the first place. Those families often lacked any other support from their relatives or friends, and the conditions they lived in were not suitable for little children. Two families with twin babies were also provided with free services of a baby sitter. The concert was a huge event in a small town like ours. It not only helped collect money for all those necessary things such as baby cots or clothes, it was also something that united the inhabitants and people from nearby villages. Unfortunately, events like that are extremely rare in this area, but perhaps the rock bands showed that it actually is possible to make the town a more interesting place and to help other people get out of difficult situations at the same time.
